I’m so excited to share the photos from this intimate elopement at Echo Lake Colorado this past August! I don’t think there’s anything more romantic than an elopement, and I love that as a photographer I get to capture these kinds of amazing and precious memories for couples.
Sheena and Ed moved to Colorado about three years ago when Ed’s job relocated them from Hong Kong to the adventurous state of Colorado. Although Sheena was born and raised in Hong Kong and Ed spent part of his childhood there, they actually met when they were studying at Penn State University and started dating four years ago.
In early July, while visiting family in Utah, the two of them got engaged! They didn’t want to wait long to get married, and both envisioned a relaxed and simple elopement day. Just the two of them being present in the moment together while saying their “I do’s.” So they immediately started looking for a photographer who could help them capture that vision. I’m so glad they found me!
Since Sheena and Ed share a love for the outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking, skiing and snowboarding, it seemed only fitting that they chose the ruggedly beautiful scenery at Echo Lake Colorado for their marriage!
This couple wanted a variety of landscapes for their elopement, and Echo Lake in Evergreen, CO was the perfect place. It features a beautiful Alpine lake with an abundance of pine trees and gorgeous mountain views. The only drawback was the weather…
A Wedding Day to Remember
While we were planning their elopement, the whole week’s weather forecast was rainy and stormy. We ended up having to reschedule their original elopement date due to storms and bad weather. Eventually we settled on a sunrise elopement which would allow us to beat the afternoon storms rolling in. It worked beautifully and honestly couldn’t have been more perfect!
The day started off so foggy that we could barely see the lake, but that didn’t stop us from capturing some lovely couples portraits in the mist. And after the first hour of photographing their elopement and exchange of vows the fog lifted and the sun peeked out from behind the clouds to give us a beautiful morning for the celebration of their marriage. It was like the heavens were smiling on them. It was truly the best way to end their elopement morning!
I’m so very happy for this sweet couple and feel truly privileged to have been able to capture this culminating moment of their love story at Echo Lake!
