There are some wedding days that simply stay with you long after the final gallery is delivered—and Stephanie and Nate’s beautiful summer wedding at The Summit in Woodland Park was one of those days.

As a Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer, I have the privilege of documenting so many incredible love stories, but this day was especially meaningful. Not only are Stephanie and Nate two of the sweetest humans you’ll ever meet, but every detail of their wedding day felt intentional, joyful, and completely reflective of who they are as a couple!

From the soft blue color palette and stunning mountain views to emotional first looks and a romantic rain-kissed portrait session, their wedding day was nothing short of magical.
The day began at The Summit, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the Colorado mountains. Summer sunshine poured through the large windows of the main living area, where Stephanie and Nate spent the morning getting ready separately with their closest friends and family.

As any Photographer knows, beautiful natural light is a dream—and this house delivered. Before the festivities officially began, I spent some time capturing their wedding details. Stephanie and Nate’s color palette immediately stole my heart. The soft shades of light blue paired with delicate pastel florals created the most romantic and timeless aesthetic. If you know me at all, you know light blue is one of my favorite colors, so photographing these details was an absolute dream!

Every element came together beautifully, from the invitations and rings to the thoughtfully designed floral arrangements that added the perfect pop of color throughout the day.
Upstairs, Stephanie spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, laughter, and plenty of excitement as the day’s anticipation grew.
One of my favorite parts of the morning was watching their sweet pup happily roam around and soak up all the attention. There’s just something special about having your furry family members included on your wedding day!

Stephanie also had a dear friend fly into Colorado specifically to do her hair and makeup, and wow—she absolutely knocked it out of the park. Stephanie looked effortlessly radiant and every bit the stunning bride she was meant to be!

Meanwhile, Nate and the guys spent the morning in a separate area of the venue, carefully avoiding any accidental glimpses before the ceremony. I absolutely loved that they chose to wait until the aisle to see each other for the first time. There is something incredibly powerful about preserving that moment.
Before the ceremony began, Stephanie shared one of the most emotional moments of the entire day—a first look with both of her dads.
I’ll be honest, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. These are the moments that remind me why I love what I do. Watching both dads see Stephanie as a bride for the first time, and seeing their emotions wash over them instantly, was truly unforgettable.

The hugs, tears, smiles, and overwhelming love filled the room in a way that words can hardly describe.
As your Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer, these emotional family moments are always among my favorites to capture because they’re often the memories couples cherish most for years to come.
Nestled among the mountains of Woodland Park, The Summit provided the most breathtaking backdrop imaginable for Stephanie and Nate’s ceremony.

As guests settled into their seats and the music began, all eyes turned toward the aisle. But as always, my eyes quickly found the groom.
One of my favorite moments on any wedding day is watching the groom’s reaction as his bride walks toward him. The anticipation, emotion, and excitement are impossible to fake.

Nate’s expression said everything.
With panoramic mountain views stretching behind them, Stephanie and Nate exchanged vows surrounded by the people who love them most. The scenery was stunning, but it was the love between these two that truly stole the show.
Their floral design from Fern and Bloom perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the venue, adding soft romantic colors that elevated every part of the ceremony space.

A wedding day like this doesn’t happen without an incredible team of vendors working behind the scenes.
A huge shoutout to Katie, with Fern and Bloom, for creating the most gorgeous floral designs that perfectly reflected Stephanie and Nate’s vision.

Another heartfelt thank you goes to Amy and the entire team at Flourish Events. Their organization, attention to detail, and seamless coordination allowed the entire day to flow beautifully from beginning to end. Having a talented planning team truly makes all the difference.
Following the ceremony, we were treated to the dreamiest mountain light for Stephanie and Nate’s newlywed portraits!
Golden summer sunshine illuminated the mountains as we explored the property and captured some of my favorite portraits of the day. The soft colors, stunning views, and pure joy between these two made every frame feel effortless.

And then… Colorado decided to be Colorado. Just as we wrapped up portraits, the weather shifted and rain began to roll in over the mountains.

But here’s the thing about wedding days—sometimes the unexpected moments become the most memorable.
Instead of running from the rain, we embraced it. With a clear umbrella in hand and the mountains fading into the mist behind them, Stephanie and Nate shared the sweetest kiss on the upper deck as rain gently sprinkled around them. The result was one of the most romantic images from their entire wedding gallery and easily one of my personal favorites!

It’s proof that sometimes the best wedding photos happen when things don’t go exactly according to plan!
As evening settled over Woodland Park, guests gathered for dinner, heartfelt toasts, and a celebration that perfectly reflected Stephanie and Nate’s joyful spirit.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was stepping outside for a few quiet moments beneath the twinkling lights and mountain sky. Their first dances felt intimate and meaningful, surrounded by the people who had supported their relationship from the very beginning.

Before long, it was time for one final photo and a joyful exit to close out an unforgettable day 🤍
Stephanie and Nate, Thank you both for trusting me with one of the most important days of your lives.
