This was such a fun wedding day right in the heart of Colorado Springs at the stylish and historic Mining Exchange Hotel! I had so much fun getting to know this incredible bride (Liz) and groom (Xing) and loved every minute of their big day. I can’t wait to share these images with you!
Liz and Xing spent the morning getting ready in separate rooms at the Mining Exchange Hotel with their closest friends. I was with Liz and my second shooter was with Xing, capturing their getting ready detail moments. Both rooms were full of so much love and energy to hype up and celebrate the bride and groom on their wedding day!
Liz and Xing had decided to forego a first look and instead wait until they were walking down the aisle at the ceremony to see each other for the first time. So after they were all dressed up and ready, we took some time to capture individual portraits of the bride and groom before the ceremony began. Liz had this fun paper fan that said “bride” on it—so of course we had to take some fun photos with that too!
The wedding ceremony was absolutely precious and held with all their closest friends and family there to celebrate their day! Lots of smiles and tears were shared on this special occasion as Liz and Xing said their “I do’s” to one another.
And there was so much energy and sense of celebration as the bride and groom exited down the aisle as husband and wife! You can just see the excitement and feel the joy of that moment in the photos!
And on that wave of enthusiasm it was time for their Just Married portraits! We took lots of photos both inside and outside of the hotel. The Mining Exchange Hotel is right in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, so it was such a fun place to really get creative and play with the varied backdrops available to us.
One of my favorite photos was the shot from above the ceremony site as they slow danced with other under the twinkling lights. And another was the photo of them kissing as they shared a drink together at the bar. I love this moment and photo so much—not least because Liz and Xing first met each other at a bar, so it was such a fun way to give an extra nod to their love story!
I loved the fun color palette this couple chose for their wedding reception décor! It matched this couple’s personality and energetic vibe perfectly!
To start out, the bride shared a first dance moment with her sister that was so sweet, and the groom shared a first dance moment with his mom. Such wonderful memories for everyone to look back on!
And then, it was time to dance the night away! One of my favorite moments of the night came when Liz did an outfit change during the reception. Man, was it a hit! She came out in this stunning, sparkly red dress and it was a MOMENT! All eyes turned to her as she entered the room. It was like the signal to really get the party started and that dress was such a pop of color on the dance floor!
Liz and Xing’s wedding day concluded with a big group photo of everyone on the dance floor together to cheer and celebrate the now MR. and MRS!!!
The photo really says it all—but HUGE congratulations to this amazing couple! Liz and Xing, thank you so much for letting me capture these memories and to be a part of your special day!!
