I just have to take a moment to share and relive Andrea and Joshua’s beautiful wedding day at the Flying Horse Resort here in Colorado Springs. They both traveled all the way from Tennessee to have their wedding at this gorgeous venue in July. Before a wedding, I always like to meet with the couple either in-person or over video call to chat about their vision and what they’re hoping for. Andrea and Josh both expressed to me that they wanted their wedding day to be a huge celebration and time to party. They picked the perfect spot and I think I can safely say that we accomplished their goal!
The Flying Horse Resort is such a gorgeous place to hold a special occasion like a wedding. The resort and club itself has an Italian villa feel to me, like a piece of the Mediterranean was transplanted into the heart of the Rockies. Surrounded by two lush golf courses and with breathtaking views of the mountains just beyond, it’s the perfect setting for a perfect day!
Getting Ready
From the very beginning, the day was so joyful and full of energy! Andrea and Joshua were surrounded by their closest friends (bridesmaids and groomsmen) as they got ready to share their bride and groom first look.
First Look Moment
I’ll never forget the moment that Josh turned around and saw Andrea in her wedding dress for the first time. His face lit up with the biggest smile when he saw his bride–it was pure magic!
I always love the romance and intimacy of a first look. It’s such a special time, just the two of you, to enjoy being alone together for a while before we move into wedding party photos, the ceremony, husband and wife portraits, and all the joyful busyness of the wedding day!
Ceremony
I loved the garden party vibes of Andrea and Joshua’s wedding ceremony. The sunshine and greenery made their portraits feel so vibrant and full of life!
Family Photos and Cocktail Hour
After a beautiful ceremony we moved into family portraits with the whole group. It was so sweet to see this lovely couple surrounded by the love and good wishes of so many people!
Sunset and Just Married Portraits
Some of my favorite images came during their sunset portraits, which we managed to catch right before a rain storm rolled in. The colors glowed beautifully, giving the most romantic backdrop for their sunset portraits! I especially love the fun golf portraits Andrea and Joshua wanted to take as well during their sunset photos, which certainly fit the vibe of the venue and their vision for the day!
Reception and Party Time
Of course the night wouldn’t be complete without the incredible dance party! It was wonderful to see Andrea and Joshua surrounded with the love of all their closest family and friends to close out the party and wedding celebration!
It was such a joy and honor to capture your love story, Andrea and Joshua! Thank you for trusting me with your day! I know these memories will be treasured for a lifetime!
