As the weather warms up it’s the perfect time to start venturing out for a family adventure complete with photos! Whether you live here in Colorado Springs or are just here for a visit, I’d encourage you to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and natural beauty to capture some unforgettable family portraits. If you’re not sure of the perfect spot, I’ve got you covered! Here are my absolute favorite Colorado Springs family photos locations!
Garden of the Gods might be the quintessential spot for Colorado Springs family photos. And with good reason! The red rock formations and mountain views make for a gorgeous and dramatic backdrop, and there are so many areas within the park to explore.
They don’t call it Red Rock for nothing. The colors here are just gorgeous and lend such a warm and vibrant feel to portraits. There are several trails to check out here, and you can also get fantastic views of Garden of the Gods without so many crowds!
This spot is such a gem, especially if you love wooded areas. I think the abundance of trees at Fox Run makes it feel so peaceful. Plus there’s a lake here as well, and lots of pavilions and gazebos that can make for a fun place to snag some photos.
Painted Mines is a beautiful park less than an hour from Colorado Springs. Depending on the time of year, you’ll see everything from beautiful wild flowers to colorful rock formations! The unique and vibrant colored hoodoos within the park offer a classic and expansive landscape to serve as the background for your Colorado Springs family photos.
Smack dab in the middle of Colorado Springs, Palmer Park is super accessible and offers some of the best views around. I love the wide-open spaces here that open right up to the sky!
There are so many fun things to do here! I love the trees (especially in the fall, as you can see) and the beautiful trails and garden for photoshoots. Once pictures are done though, the whole family can have fun with their obstacle course, playgrounds, or horseshoe pits!
If you’re dreaming of mountains, foothills, and open fields, then Dawson Butte Open Space might be the ideal location for your family photos. This spot offers an abundance of trails, beautiful wildflowers in the summer, and open meadow fields, all with beautiful foothills in the distance.
When it comes to your Colorado Springs family photos, you can’t go wrong with any of these amazing locations! They are all spectacular and offer a beautiful and unique place to capture your family’s memories.
